RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-733-9 with Rebecca Vesely, an individual, effective March 1, 2017, to amend Contract #26-733-8, to increase the payment limit by $70,000, from $110,000 to a new payment limit of $180,000, with no change in the original term of August 1, 2016 through July 31, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On July 19, 2016, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-733-8 with Rebecca Vesely, for the provision of consulting and technical writing assistance to CCRMC improvement projects including Public Hospital Redesign and Incentives in Medical Program (PRIME) project and Medicare Waiver 2020 “Whole Person Care” program for the period August 1, 2016 through July 31, 2017. At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization. However, the utilization during the term of the agreement was higher than originally anticipated.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-733-9 will allow the Contractor to provide additional hours of consulting and technical writing services to CCRMC improvement projects including Public Hospital Redesign and Incentives in Medical Program (PRIME) project and Medicare Waiver 2020 “Whole Person Care” program through July 31, 2017.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not provide additional consulting and technical writing services to CCRMC.
