RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute an Encroachment Permit for environmental surveys with East Bay Regional Park District, effective May 24, 2016 through December 31, 2016, with the option to request an extension through October 31, 2017, for the Morgan Territory Road Bridges Scour Project, (Project No. 0662-6R4030), Clayton area.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Local Road Funds

BACKGROUND:

The Contra Costa County (County) Public Works Department is in the initial phase of the Morgan Territory Road Bridges Scour Project. It is necessary to conduct environmental surveys to determine the impact to the surrounding area before the project can move forward. As a condition to the Encroachment Permit, the District has requested the County to indemnify them during the effective dates of the permit.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The project would not be able to move forward.
