RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-204-8 with Comprehensive Psychiatric Services, A Medical Group, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $220,000, to provide psychiatry services for Contra Costa Health Plan members for the period from June 1, 2016 through May 31, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On June 17, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-204-7 with Comprehensive Psychiatric Services, A Medical Group for the provision of psychiatry services, for the period from June 1, 2014 through May 31, 2016. Approval of Contract #27-204-8 will allow Contractor to continue providing psychiatry services to Contra Costa Health Plan members, through May 31, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
