RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute an amendment to the Purchase Order with Metropolitan Van and Storage Inc., to add $150,000 for a new total payment limit of $249,000, to purchase furniture and equipment storage and delivery for the expansion of the Antioch and Brentwood Health Centers, with no change in the term of October 21, 2015 through September 30, 2016.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% funding is included in the Hospital Enterprise Fund I Budget.

BACKGROUND:

Metropolitan Van and Storage Inc., receives and stores the equipment and furniture needed to expand the capacity at the Antioch and Brentwood clinics. Once the clinics are able to receive the equipment and furniture, Metropolitan Van and Storage Inc. will deliver and install them.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

Not Applicable.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this Purchase Order is not approved, equipment and furniture required to expand capacity at the clinics until construction is complete since the suppliers cannot guarantee delivery dates and we have no place to store these items. This would negatively impact our ability to provide timely patient care, as clinic expansion is necessary to meet the needs of our expanded patient population.
