RECOMMENDATION(S):

PRESENTATION acknowledging what the Youth Summit offers Contra Costa County's young people with the resources and strategies for self-improvement and attaining educational, career and financial goals.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None

BACKGROUND:

Supervisor Federal Glover has sponsored a Youth Summit for Contra Costa's young people for 15 years.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Lower than expected attendance at the Youth Summit.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

The Youth Summit provides information to young people so they can improve their coping strategies in finding employment, improving self-esteem, self-improvement, anti-violence practices, handling personal finances, setting life and educational goals and inspiration to for self-improvement and to attain those goals.
