RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE Appropriation and Revenue Adjustment No. 5069 and AUTHORIZE the transfer of revenue from Employment and Human Services Department (Children and Family Services Bureau), Fund 100300 and appropriate it to Fleet Internal Service Fund (ISF), Autos & Trucks (Fleet), Fund 150100 in the amount of $250,223 for the purchase of nine vehicles (four 2017 Ford Escapes, four Ford Fusions and one Transit Connect Van). Board Order to authorize the purchase of the nine vehicles has already been submitted.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The purchase of the nine new vehicles will be funded 100% through EHSD Children and Family Services Bureau budgeted funds (100% County)

BACKGROUND:

The Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) Children and Family Services Bureau is purchasing nine vehicles. The vehicles are to be utilized by social workers in order to meet the growing needs of the community for social services including the movement/placement of children and families and their personal possessions.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Employment and Human Services Department would not be able to purchase new vehicles. Their ability to serve the public would be restricted.
