RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #27-277-17 with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., a non-profit corporation, effective March 31, 2015, to amend Contract #27-277-14, to increase the payment limit by $10,000,000, from $80,000,000 to a new payment limit of $90,000,000, and extend the term from March 31, 2015 through June 30, 2015.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan member premiums. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On April 29, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-277-14 (as amended by Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #27-277-15 and #27-277-16) with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc, for the provision of health care services for Medi-Cal recipients enrolled in the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, for the period from January 1, 2014 through March 31, 2015. Approval of Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #27-277-17 will allow the Contractor to provide additional professional health care services for Medi-Cal recipients enrolled in the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan through June 30, 2015.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, Medi-Cal recipients enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan would not receive professional health care services.
