RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a blanket Purchase Order with UptoDate, Inc., in the amount of $113,975 to purchase a one year subscription to the online database, for the Medical Records Unit at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC), for the period June 1, 2015 through May 31, 2016.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% funding is included in the Hospital Enterprise Fund I Budget.

BACKGROUND:

CCRMC medical staff uses UptoDate to access the most recent medical information at the point-of -care. This information helps them make the critical decisions that are necessary for safe, effective, and efficient patient care.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this Purchase Order is not approved, we will not be able to take the best care of our patient population at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.
