RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21661 to add one permanent full-time Mental Health Program Supervisor (VQHP) at salary level ZA5-1749 ($6,106.25 - $7,422.19) in the Health Services Department. (Represented)  

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will result in an annual increased cost of $145,081.43, including pension cost of $31,618.53. Funding for this action will come from CCHP Enterprise Fund II.  










BACKGROUND:

The Health Services Department is requesting to add a Mental Health Program Supervisor for the Mental Health component of Care Management Unit in the Contra Costa Health Plan. The new Mental Health Program Supervisor for CCHP Care Management Unit will be responsibility for utilization management process, reviewing assessment and treatment plans, provide case consultation and support to licensed mental health professionals, monitor and ensure regulatory standards and requirements are met for MHSA and CCMHP and management of the mental health services provided by over 250 individual, group and organizational providers. The department has determined the best classification to manage the Mental Health segment of the Care Management Unit is Mental Health Program Supervisor.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, the Health Services will not be able to properly manage the Mental Health services provided by Care Management Unit including coordination of care, treatment plan and an increase of disallowance which could have an adverse impact on the Mental Health consumers of Contra Costa County.
