RECOMMENDATION(S):

Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21643 to add two (2) Administrative Services Assistant III (APTA) (represented) full time positions at Salary Plan and Grade ZB5 1631 ($5,432-$6,603) in the Employment and Human Services Department, Children and Family Services Bureau.  

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval of these positions, the net county cost will increase by $6,736 during the current fiscal year. These positions will be funded 45% Federal revenue, 45% State revenue, and 10% County Cost. The annual pension cost is $96,537.










BACKGROUND:

The Employment and Human Services Department, Children and Family Services Bureau is responsible for managing State mandated initiatives including Continuous Quality Improvement, Systems Improvement Plan and Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC). The department is requesting to add two (2) full-time Administrative Services Assistant III positions to provide administrative support and to respond to special project requests, when needed. The Administrative Services Assistant IIIs will be responsible for contract monitoring, managing contractual agreements, budgets, service plans, data collection and analysis, and monitoring statistics and data trends, as well as compliance and workload monitoring.   

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, the Children and Family Services Bureau will not have the sufficient administrative support staff to effectively monitor compliance, quality control, and provide data and statistics to ensure that children are safe and receiving appropriate services.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

The mission of the Children and Family Services Bureau is to ensure that children are safe and receiving appropriate services. The implementation of state mandated programs for the protection of children is an important component to accomplish the mission.
