RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Resolution No. 2015/102 recognizing May 2015 as Foster Care Month in Contra Costa County, as recommended by Employment and Human Services Director.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None

BACKGROUND:

The family serves as the very foundation of love, identity, and self-esteem in Contra Costa County communities, and where kin, non-kin, foster and adoptive families, who open their homes and hearts and support children whose families are in crisis, play a vital role in helping children and families heal and reconnect thereby launching young people into successful adulthood.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Foster care providers will not receive Board recognition for their services.
