BACKGROUND:
The Young Men's Christian Association of the East Bay (YMCA) in collaboration with Bay Area Community Resources (BACA) will provide the Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency Project in West Contra Costa County. The project will provide mental health counseling services to elementary school students who do not qualify for Medi-Cal and their parents/guardians. Through the provision of direct services and advocacy in English and Spanish, the project will provide caregivers with support and information to help them with positive, nurturing parenting; provide students with trauma-informed counseling to improve resiliency and emotional & behavioral health; reduce barriers to treatment by offering services at schools, during after school hours, and at homes; decrease the risk of abuse and neglect among traumatized students; and, provide services that are culturally and linguistically appropriate. Services will include, but not limited to home visiting,emotional support, resource coordination, and education.
The contract is in response to the Family and Children's Trust (FACT) Committee's Request for Proposal (RFP) #1144.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Services to CCC children and families who are victims of abuse or neglect or at risk of abuse and neglect would not be delivered as designed by the Contractor.
