RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Resolution No. 2023/108 approving and authorizing the Public Works Director, or designee, to fully close a portion of Rolph Park Drive between Pomona Street and Rolph Park Court, and all of Rolph Park Court, on April 19, 2023, through August 29, 2023, from 7:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., for the purpose of installation of new water main and service transfers, Crockett area. (District V)

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) shall follow guidelines set forth by the Public Works Department. EBMUD has requested a periodic road closure as necessary between the proposed project start and ending dates in order to install approx. 2,830' of a combination of 6", 8", and 12" water mains, and 6 service transfers. All lanes of traffic will be reopened to the public during non-working hours. The closure is for increased traffic safety during construction and to enable the project to be completed in timely fashion.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

East Bay Municipal Utility District will be unable to close the road for planned activities.
