RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPOINT, in lieu of election, to the Contra Costa County Employees' Retirement Association Board of Trustees the following candidates to terms beginning July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2025:

David MacDonald, Vallejo, CA 94591, as General Member #2

Louis Kroll, Vacaville, CA 95687, as Retired Member #8

FISCAL IMPACT:

None to the County. Retirement Board Trustees receive a stipend of $100 per meeting, plus mileage reimbursement, paid by CCCERA.

BACKGROUND:

Only one candidate filed for each seat of the Contra Costa County Retirement Board, which election was scheduled for June 14, 2022. Election Code section 10515 requires that candidates who filed for an office for which the number of candidates equaled or did not exceed the number required to be elected, be "Appointed-in-Lieu of Election" by the Board of Supervisors as if they were elected.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Should the Board take no or negative action, the candidates will not be sworn in as provided by law.
