RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Clerk-Recorder, or designee, to execute a facility use permit with the City of Oakley at no cost to rent the City Council Chambers for pollworker training on May 19, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.

BACKGROUND:

The Elections Division of the Clerk-Recorder's Office will provide in-person pollworker training throughout the county for the June 7, 2022 Gubernatorial Primary Election. Sites that will be utilized include the City Council Chambers in the City of Oakley. The City Council Chamber Use Permit Application for this site contains a waiver, release, and indemnity provision, whereby the County agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Oakley for use of this site as a pollworker training location. For pollworker training, the agreement provides the County with use of the City Council Chambers on May 19, 2022.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Should the Board not approve and authorize execution of the agreement, the Elections Office will not be able to use this site as a training location.
