RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #76-731 with Samuel H. Cho, M.D., an individual, in an amount not to exceed $1,600,000, to provide cardiology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) for the period from September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2024.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $1,600,000 over a 3 year period and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.

BACKGROUND:

Due to the limited number of specialty providers available within the community, CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers relies on contracts to provide necessary specialty health services to its patients. This contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing cardiology services in the cardiology clinics, inpatient sessions, echocardiogram readings and on-call clinics.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Under this new Contract #76-731 the contractor will provide cardiology services for CCRMC for the period September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2024.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, patients requiring cardiology services at CCRMC will not have access to this contractor’s services.
