RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with Phamatech, Incorporated, in an amount not to exceed $246,960 for Child Welfare mandated drug testing services for the period of July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This contract will increase department expenditures by $246,960 to be funded with 30% County and 70% State revenue.
BACKGROUND:
Random drug tests are court-ordered services and are ordered as a part of the client service plan. Laboratory results are submitted for inclusion in the Child Welfare Family Maintenance and Reunification cases. Services include insuring the availability of specimen collection sites, screening test specimens, providing "on-demand" sample testing when requested by the County's Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) social workers, and providing monthly statistics to EHSD for clients referred for drug testing.
