RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Health Services Director, an amendment to Purchase Order #F06131 with Lifenet Health, to increase the payment limit by $60,000 for a new payment limit of $159,900 for the purchase of medical supplies, instruments and allografts for the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC), with no change in the original term of January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% funding is included in the Hospital Enterprise Fund I budget.

BACKGROUND:

CCRMC purchases Allograft Bio-implant solutions for general orthopedics and trauma. Lifenet Health has a comprehensive Allograft portfolio to ensure surgeons have access to the right graft for their procedures. Grafts are specific to individual patients, so the availability of the correct graft for the procedure is critical for a successful outcome. Lifenet Health is an alternate provider for Allograft.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the amendment for this purchase order is not approved, CCRMC will not be able to ensure the surgeons have access to the right instruments for their procedures.
