RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with Minh Nguyen, M.D., an individual, in an amount not to exceed $174,720, to provide outpatient psychiatric services to patients in West Contra Costa County for the period from April 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On April 18, 2017, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-488-2 with Ming Nguyen, M.D., for the provision of outpatient psychiatric services, including, but not limited to diagnosing, counseling, evaluating, and providing medical and therapeutic treatment to mentally ill adults in West Contra Costa County for the period April 1, 2017 through March 31, 2018.

Approval of Contract #74-488-3 will allow the contractor to continue providing outpatient psychiatric services, through March 31, 2019.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, the County’s clients will not have access to the contractor’s outpatient psychiatric services.
