RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-288-8 with Diablo Nephrology Medical Group, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $750,000, to provide nephrology services to Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members for the period from May 1, 2017 through April 30, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On April 21, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-288-7 with Diablo Nephrology Medical Group, Inc., for the period from May 1, 2015 through April 30, 2017 for the provision of nephrology services for Contra Costa Health Plan members.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #27-288-8 will allow Contractor to continue to provide nephrology services through April 30, 2019.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
