RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-395-20 with LocumTenens.com, LLC, a limited liability company, in an amount not to exceed $750,000, to provide temporary physician services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from March 1, 2016 through February 28, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On March 31, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-395-19 with LocumTenens.com, LLC for the provision of temporary physician services CCRMC for the period from March 1, 2015 through February 29, 2016. Approval of Contract #26-395-20 will allow Contractor to continue providing temporary physician services at CCRMC through February 28, 2017. This contract includes modification of the County's Standard General Conditions, Paragraph 19 (Insurance).

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, patients requiring temporary physician services will not have access to Contractor’s services.
