RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-871-2 with Viet H. Ho, M.D., A Professional Corporation, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $175,000, to provide ophthalmology services to Contra Costa Health Plan members, for the period from May 1, 2016 through April 30, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

In June, 2014, the County Administrator approved and Purchasing Manager executed Contract #27-871-1 with Viet H. Ho, M.D., A Professional Corporation for the period from May 1, 2014 through April 30, 2016, for the provision of (oculoplastics) ophthalmology services. Approval of Contract #27-871-2 will allow Contractor to provide ophthalmology services through April 30, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
