RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-800-5 with VVS Primary Care Medical Group, Inc. (dba Piedmont Primary Care), a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $400,000, to provide primary care services for the period from May 1, 2016 through April 30, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On May 6, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-800-4 with VVS Primary Care Medical Group, Inc. (dba Piedmont Primary Care), for the provision of primary care services to Contra Costa Health Plan members, for the period from May 1, 2014 through April 30, 2016. Approval of Contract #27-800-5 will allow Contractor to continue providing primary care services through April 30, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
