Referral History:

In September 2020, the Board of Supervisors adopted a Climate Emergency Resolution that, among other things, directed the establishment of an interdepartmental task force of all Department heads, or their senior deputies, that focuses on urgently implementing the County's Climate Action Plan - as currently adopted and as it may be amended by the Board - and identifying additional actions, policies, and programs the County can undertake to reduce and adapt to the impacts of a changing climate.

Referral Update:

Many County departments are taking action within their operations to reduce and adapt to the impacts of a changing climate. The Sustainability Committee will be receiving presentations from departments at its meetings. For March 2023, the Health Services Department present on its approach to addressing climate change.
