This grant allows Contra Costa Health Services, and the Contra Costa Department of Conservation and Development, with its partner, Marin Clean Energy (MCE), and the Association for Energy Affordability (AEA) to implement the Green and Healthy Homes Program and monitor retrofit improvements in the homes of high-risk CCHP members with asthma across Contra Costa County, improving indoor air quality and removing underlying asthma triggers. This grant agreement will also allow the partners to align project interests and outcomes to Assembly Bill 617 which aims to establish a new community-scale emissions abatement program to reduce the impact of air pollution.
On August 11, 2020, the Board of Supervisors approved Grant Agreement #28-929 to allow the County to receive $100,000 for the implementation of the Green and Healthy Homes Program through December 31, 2021.
On October 5, 2021, the Board of Supervisors approved Grant Amendment #28-929-1 which extended the term of the grant from December 31, 2021 to June 30, 2022 with no change in the amount payable to the County not ot exceed $100,000.
Approval of Grant Amendment Agreement #28-929-2 will allow the County to continue the Green and Healthy Homes Program, though December 31, 2022. This agreement includes mutual indemnification to hold harmless both parties for any claims arising out of the performance of this contract.
If this contract amendment is not approved, the County will be unable to continue the Green and Healthy Homes Program for the period July 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.
