RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute the Agreement for Joint Pavement Maintenance Surface Seal between Contra Costa County and the City of Lafayette, effective March 1, 2022, to reimburse the City for costs related to the roadway surface treatment of Sky View Court, Knoll Drive and Camino Pablo in unincorporated Moraga. (District II)

FISCAL IMPACT:

The County will reimburse the City of Lafayette for costs associated with the pavement surface seal work in unincorporated Moraga. (100% Local Road Funds)

BACKGROUND:

The Contra Costa County Public Works Department and City of Lafayette wish to make a joint agreement to complete pavement maintenance surface seal work in our mutual jurisdictions. The City is willing to take the lead to advertise and award a contract to complete this work and include three unincorporated Moraga roads as part of the overall project. The three roads in unincorporated Moraga include Sky View Court, Knoll Drive and Camino Pablo. Per the agreement, the County will reimburse the City for costs associated with the surface seal work.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Joint Pavement Maintenance Surface Seal agreement would not be approved and the City would not be responsible for the surface treatment of the County's roads in unincorporated Moraga.
