RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #77-016-3 with Mauricio Kuri, M.D., P.C., a professional corporation, in an amount not to exceed $300,000, to provide plastic and reconstructive surgery services to Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members and County recipients, for the period from April 1, 2022 through March 31, 2025.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $300,000 over a three-year period and will be funded 100% by CCHP Enterprise Fund II revenues. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

CCHP has an obligation to provide certain specialized plastic and reconstructive surgery health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County. This contractor has been in the CCHP Provider Network providing these medical specialty services since April 1, 2016.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

On February 4, 2020, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #77-016-2 with Mauricio Kuri, M.D., P.C., in an amount not to exceed $225,000, for the provision of plastic and reconstructive surgery services for the period April 1, 2020 through March 31, 2022.

Approval of Contract #77-016-3 will allow the contractor to continue providing plastic and reconstructive surgery services through March 31, 2025.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized plastic and reconstructive surgery health care services for CCHP members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
