ACCEPT the resignation of Travis Curran, DECLARE a vacancy for the District IV Alternate Seat on the Sustainability Committee, and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy, as recommended by Supervisor Karen Mitchoff.

BACKGROUND:

The Sustainability Commission’s purpose is to advise the Board on issues related to the County’s Climate Action Plan and opportunities to realize equity and fairness across the diverse communities of Contra Costa County in sustainability programs that support the Climate Action Plan. The Sustainability Commission will provide suggestions to staff and the Board on how to better engage Contra Costa County residents and businesses on sustainability issues and implementation of the Climate Action Plan.

Mr. Travis Curran was originally appointed on April 18, 2017 and was reappointed on March 26, 2019 to a term ending March 31, 2023. On February 28, 2021 Mr. Curran submitted his letter of resignation

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The vacancy will not be recognized and the seat will not be filled with an eligible representative.
