RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #74-514-6 with Robin Wendy Asher, M.D., an individual, in an amount not to exceed $239,616, to provide outpatient psychiatric care services to children and adolescents in Central Contra Costa County, for the period from April 1, 2020 through March 31, 2021.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded by 50% Federal Medi-Cal and 50% by Mental Health Realignment Funds. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On March 12, 2019, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-514-5 with Robin Wendy Asher, M.D., to provide outpatient psychiatric services to children and adolescents in Central Contra Costa County, including diagnosing, counseling, evaluation, and medical and therapeutic treatment and consulting and training in medical and therapeutic matters for the period from April 1, 2019 through March 31, 2020.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #74-514-6 will allow Contractor to continue providing psychiatric services through March 31, 2021.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s psychiatric care services.
