RECOMMENDATION(S):

AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to advertise for the 2020 On-Call Facilities General Construction Services Contract(s) for repairs and small construction to support maintenance of various county facilities, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% General Fund

BACKGROUND:

The Public Works Department will use the 2020 On-Call Facilities General Construction Services Contract(s) to provide general construction services, as needed, for repairs including but not limited to maintenance, repairs and small construction, in support of maintenance operations at various facilities within Contra Costa County.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

The Public Works Department intends to award at least one (1), but not more than three (3) contracts, total of contracts not to exceed $10,000,000 to the responsible bidder(s). Each contract will have a term of three (3) years with the option of two (2) one-year extensions, and will be used as needed with no minimum amount that has to be spent.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the request to advertise is not approved, the Public Works Department will not be able to advertise for general construction services, which may result in a back log of repairs required to maintain county facilities.
