RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-458-22 with AYA Healthcare, Inc., a corporation, effective December 1, 2016, to amend Contract #26-458-21, to increase the payment limit by $500,000, from $600,000 to a new payment limit of $1,100,000, with no change in the original term of September 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On October 20, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-458-21 with AYA Healthcare, Inc., for the provision of temporary nursing services to cover during temporary absences, and a shortage of nurses in critical areas at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from September 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-458-22 will allow the Contractor to provide additional hours of temporary nursing services through June 30, 2017.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, contractor will not provide additional hours of temporary nursing services.
