RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74–424-6 with David A. Schwartz, M.D., an individual, in an amount not to exceed $145,600 to provide outpatient psychiatric services for adults in Central Contra Costa County for the period from May 1, 2017 through April 30, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Mental Health Realignment. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On March 29, 2016 the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-424-5 with David A. Schwartz, M.D., for the period from May 1, 2016 through April 30, 2017 for the provision of outpatient psychiatric services for adults in Central Contra Costa County. Approval of Contract #74-424-6 will allow Contractor to continue providing services through April 30, 2018.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, patients requiring psychiatric services will not have access to Contractor’s services.
