RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve Appropriation and Revenue Adjustment No 5055 authorizing increasing appropriations for capital equipment and revenue for the purchase of equipment for the Senior Nutrition Program.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No impact on the General Fund. This action increases the appropriation for anticipated capital equipment purchases by $32,000 (fully offset by revenue).

BACKGROUND:

The Senior Nutrition Program provides nutritious meals to elderly residents in Contra Costa County through the Meals on Wheels program. The current equipment is in constant need of repair to the point that the cost of the repairs are more than the equipment is worth.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this request is not approved, the Public Health Nutrition Program will be unable to safely supply nutritious meals to the County’s vulnerable senior population.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

Not applicable.
