RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #27-875-2 with Clarify Software Solutions, Inc., a corporation, effective March 1, 2015, to amend Contract #27-875 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #27-875-1), to increase the payment limit by $500,000, from $3,500,000 to a new payment limit of $4,000,000, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund III. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On June 26, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-875 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #27-875-1) with Clarify Software Solutions, Inc., for the provision of professional printing, publication, distribution and technical assistance for CCHP Member materials, for the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015. Due to an increase in member identification cards, member handbooks, facility directories and other required items in the CCHP product line, County requested and Contractor agreed to provide additional printed services. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #27-875-2 will allow the Contractor to provide additional printing services through June 30, 2015.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, new members requiring membership cards and other related new member materials will not have access to Contractor’s services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of service to the community.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

Not applicable.
