RECOMMENDATION(S):

CONTINUE to April 14, 2015 the Board’s consideration of proposed Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnerships allocations totaling $5,166,420, as recommended by the Affordable Housing Finance Committee.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal Impact.

BACKGROUND:

The Affordable Housing Finance Committee (AHFC) is a Board-appointed committee that develops funding recommendations for the Board concerning the allocation of federal funds for affordable housing development.
The AHFC met on March 16, and March 30, 2015 to develop funding recommendations for CDBG-Housing, and HOME funds. The AHFC recommendations will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors on April 14, 2015.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

On February 28, 2015, a “Notice of Public Meeting” was published in the Contra Costa Times. The purpose of this agenda item is to provide notice to the public that the Board of Supervisors will consider approval of the AHFC funding recommendations on April 14 instead of March 31, 2015.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the Board does not approve the Affordable Housing Finance Committee funding recommendations, the project sponsors seeking HOME funds will not be able to submit applications to the State of California for Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities funds on April 20, 2015.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

None.
