RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-716-4 with East Bay Cardiac Surgery Center Medical Group, a general partnership, in an amount not to exceed $120,000, to provide cardiac and thoracic surgery services to Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members for the period from April 1, 2015 through March 31, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Funds III. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

In June 2013, the County Administrator approved and Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #27-716-3 with East Bay Cardiac Surgery Center Medical Group, for the period from April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2015, for the provision of cardiac and thoracic surgery services to Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members. Approval of Contract #27-716-4 will allow Contractor to continue providing cardiac and thoracic surgery services through March 31, 2017.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
