RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent on behalf of the Health Services Department, a Purchase Order with Direct Systems Support in an amount of $148,000 for IBM servers, software, and warranty support for the period from March 2, 2015 through March 1, 2019.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Funding is included in the Enterprise Fund I Budget.

BACKGROUND:

Health Services extensively uses IBM technologies to run the ccLink electronic health record (EHR). New servers and technologies are part of the upcoming Epic upgrade to a new version of the application.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to purchase these servers will affect ccLink will not allow the Department to upgrade the EHR.
