RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-573-6 with Dominic Ciotola, in an amount not to exceed $160,000, to provide instruction of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) courses for selected Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra Costa Health Center staff for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

On October 23, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-573-5 with Dominic Ciotola (dba CPR Training Center) for the period from August 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015, for the provision of American Heart Association-approved CPR courses, including, but not limited to, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Pediatric Cardiac Life Support (APCLS) courses for CCRMC staff.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, CCRMC will not have access to Contractor’s CPR training and certification services.
