RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-578-8 with Dialysis Access Center Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $350,000 to provide dialysis services to Contra Costa Health Plan members for the period from April 1, 2015 through March 31, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded Contra Costa Health Plan 100% Enterprise Fund III. This contract reflects a rate increase.

BACKGROUND:

On April 9, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-578-7 with Dialysis Access Center Inc. to provide professional dialysis services for Contra Costa Health Plan members for the period from April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2015.

Approval of Contract #27-578-8 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through March 31, 2017.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
