RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of Employment and Human Services Department, IT Unit, a purchase order with Integrated Archive Systems in the amount not to exceed $174,359, to procure additional virtual server capacity for the period March 23, 2015 through September 15, 2015.

FISCAL IMPACT:

$174,359: 100% Administrative Overhead (10% County; 45% State; 45% Federal)

BACKGROUND:

The Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) needs additional virtual server capacity to complete EHSD's physical server to virtual server migration. EHSD's existing infrastructure of virtual servers is quickly approaching the system’s capacity. Adding this additional capacity will enable EHSD to continue to grow its virtual server environment. This environment will enable EHSD to bring additional technology to our staff to include Video / Voice conferencing, Instant Messaging, Virtual Desktops, etc. It is important as new technologies arrive on the market the EHSD is prepared to leverage them, this additional capacity will allow us too.
