RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPOINT Randal Kevin Tillery to Mandated Partner Seat #5, Contra Costa Community College District, on the Workforce Development Board, as recommended by the Employment and Human Services Director.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None

BACKGROUND:

Mr. Tillery is being appointed to the seat held by Helen Benjamin who resigned from the Workforce Development Board in September of 2014. Mr. Tillery's address is 500 Court Street, Martinez, CA 94553.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

The Workforce Development Board was created on pursuant to the Federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 and has the responsibility for overall workforce investment policy, mandated workforce investment policy and oversight of the One-Stop Career Center system.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Workforce Development Board will find it difficult to conduct routine business and fill vacant seats as required by federal and state law.
