RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Clerk-Recorder, or designee, to execute a rental contract with the City of Walnut Creek Arts, Recreation and Community Services Department in the amount of $290 for rental of the Tice Valley Gymnasium from March 16, 2015 through March 18, 2015 for the Special Primary Election. (100% Elections Lease Funds) (2353-8Y2353, Acct. 2260)

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Elections Lease Funds.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The County will incur all costs to establish a new location and to re-notify voters of polling location.

BACKGROUND:

The Elections Division is currently preparing for the March 17, 2015 State Senatorial District Special Primary Election. The Election Division must establish numerous polling locations in each city within the State Senate 7^th District. The City of Walnut Creek (City) requests the Clerk-Recorder, or designee, to execute a Rental Contract for use of their Tice Valley Gymnasium located at 2055 Tice Valley Boulevard. The City has also included indemnification language in this contract.
