RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chair, Board of Supervisors, to execute the License Agreement between the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (District) and Golden Rain Foundation of Walnut Creek (Foundation), a California Corporation, effective January 15, 2009 through January 31, 2029, for the purpose of installing and maintaining a rain gauge monitor and related equipment in Foundation's premises.

BACKGROUND:

The Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District monitors the collection of rain and stream gauge data, which also includes maintenance of rain and stream gauges throughout Contra Costa County. In September 2008, the existing rain gauge located on Golden Rain Foundation’s property, lost its capability to transmit information to the data collection tower. The License Agreement is necessary at this time due to the change in the location of the rain gauge.
