BACKGROUND:

The Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) requires licensed, uniformed, unarmed security guard services for sites within Contra Costa County. Several properties have scheduled posts as well as other sites where security services may be ordered on an as-needed basis for periods of a limited number hours or up to several days.

It is anticipated that the contract resulting from the Request for Proposal (RFP) will require the provision of security guard services for the Community Services Bureau at one primary service location, the George Miller III Children's Center, West County, requiring a fulltime, Monday through Friday security schedule and for EHSD at one primary service location, the Medi-Cal Call Center, East County, requiring a fulltime, Monday through Friday secuirty schedule.

The EHSD on-call services, scheduled on an as-needed basis, may require security service at several locations throughout the County. EHSD may request additional on-call security service at any EHSD site for a range of hours for special situations and for varying lengths of time, to include evenings and weekends.
