Authorize payment of the amounts specified for EMS fire first-responder medical equipment, medical supplies and EMS training to the following agencies, upon approval of EMS Director for FY 2008-09.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding for these expenditures has been budgeted under CSA EM-1 (Measure H). There is no General Fund impact.  

BACKGROUND:

Under County Service Area EM-1, funding has been available for enhancements to the County EMS system, including first responder medical training, equipment, and supplies. The Health Services Department provides each jurisdiction with its benefit units based allocation up front. Each jurisdiction is required to use the funds for and in accordance with the existing guidelines and to provide an annual report on how funds were used prior to receiving the next year's allocation.
