Recommendation(s):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Request Number 20672 to cancel two Child Support Assistant (J9VA) (represented) positions #10755 and #10756; cancel one Account Clerk Experienced Level (JDVC) (represented) position #6535, and add three Child Support Specialist I (SMWF) (represented) positions.

Fiscal Impact:

This action will result in a net cost savings of $2424 per fiscal year.

Background:

The department is reorganizing staff to address the change in business processes. The department recently completed conversion to the Statewide Child Support System, CSE. This new computer application has increased automation and has changed the level of complexity of work that is required by the staff.

The Child Support Assistant positions and the Account Clerk Experienced Level position are currently vacant and fully funded. Transitioning these positions into a higher level position, Child Support Specialist I, would allow the department increased ability to assign work to the appropriate level of staff.

Consequence of Negative Action:

If this action is not approved, the department will have limited ability in assigning work to the appropriate level of staff.
