RECOMMENDATION(S):

RE-APPOINT David R. Del Simone of 6371 Florio Street, Oakland, 94618, to the Board of Trustees of the Public Law Library to a one-year term ending December 31, 2009.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.

BACKGROUND:

The Public Law Library Board of Trustees was established pursuant to State law and County Ordinance to maintain a law library in Martinez and a branch library in Richmond. The Board of Trustees is the governing body for the Law Library with the authority to determine personnel, fiscal, and administrative policies to fulfill the legal information needs of the community.   
  





BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
The Internal Operations Committee annually reviews the appointment to the Member of the Bar seat, which term expires each December 31. The Internal Operations Committee approved the nomination of Mr. Del Simone at its March 11 meeting and recommends to the Board his re-appointment. Attached are Mr. Del Simone’s application and a letter of nomination from Superior Court Judge Barry Goode.
