Information
Recommendation(s):
APPROVE Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5062 authorizing new revenue in Plant Acquisition in the amount of $200,000 toward the Veterans Buildings Improvements from the transfer of 400 Hartz, Danville and appropriating it to toward Veterans Buildings Improvements in the Plant Acquisition to meet future building improvements of the remaining County veterans buildings.
Fiscal Impact:
The Plant Acquisition account for Veterans buildings Improvements (4431-4199) will be increased by $200,000.
Background:
The Board of Supervisors authorized the real property transfer of the Danville Veterans Memorial Building at 400 Hartz Avenue, Danville on August 19, 2008. In return, the County avoided at least $600,000 in identified deferred maintenance expenses and approximately $100,000 per year in annual building occupancy expenses. According to the terms of the transfer, the County received $200,000 from the Town of Danville. These funds were identified as restricted for addressing other County veteran buildings deferred maintenance needs.
Consequence of Negative Action:

Failure to approve the appropriation adjustment will deprive the Veterans buildings of $200,000 for deferred maintenance needs.
