3. Staff recommends approval of the attached Record of Action for the October 24, 2016, Ad Hoc Committee on Sustainability Meeting with any necessary corrections.

5. RECOMMEND that the Board of Supervisors create an additional At-Large seat on the Sustainability Commission for one member who is a resident of Contra Costa County and represents an educational institution in Contra Costa County or research institution located in Contra Costa County or a neighboring County.
  The Committee recommends to the Board of Supervisors the creation of an additional at-large seat on the Sustainability Commission for a County resident who works for an educational institution in Contra Costa County or a research institution located in Contra Costa County or a neighboring County.  The Committee also recommends to the Board of Supervisors the appointment of alternate representatives to be appointed by each Supervisor.

6. INTERVIEW applicants for the at-large seats on the Sustainability Commission.
  The Committee interviewed the following candidates for at-large appointments to the Sustainability Commission: Gretchen Logue,Nick Despota,Charles Davidson, Jency James, Kim Hazard, Robert Joe, Carol Weed, Rebecca Verity, Mark Thomson, Harry Thurston, Allan Moskowitz, Carolyn Phinney, Nick Snyder, Kimberly Lam, Kathy Cutting, Howdy Goudey, Scott Warfe.

7. RECEIVE presentation from County staff on improvements in operating the County fleet.
  The Committee received a presentation on the County fleet from Carlos Velasquez, Contra Costa County Fleet Manager.

8. DISCUSS and RECOMMEND to the Board of Supervisors candidates for at-large seats on the Contra Costa County Sustainability Commission.

 
  The Committee recommends that the Board of Supervisors appoint the following individuals to the at-large seats on the Sustainability Commission:
Environmental Justice - Doria Robinson
Community Group - Howdy Goudey, Harry Thurston
Business - Nick Snyder, Kathy Cutting
Education/Research Institution - Scott Warfe

9. RECEIVE update from the County’s Sustainability Coordinator.
  Jody London, County Sustainability Coordinator, provided an update of work underway to implement the County's Climate Action Plan.
             
10. The next meeting is currently scheduled for March 27, 2017, 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

The Ad Hoc Committee on Sustainability will provide reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities planning to attend Ad Hoc Committee on Sustainability meetings. Contact the staff person listed below at least 72 hours before the meeting.
Any disclosable public records related to an open session item on a regular meeting agenda and distributed by the County to a majority of members of the Ad Hoc Committee on Sustainability less than 96 hours prior to that meeting are available for public inspection at 651 Pine Street, 1st floor, during normal business hours.
Public comment may be submitted via electronic mail on agenda items at least one full work day prior to the published meeting time.
