RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-788-3 with Peyman Keyashian, M.D., an individual, in an amount not to exceed $505,000, to provide anesthesiology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers (CCRMC) for the period from February 1, 2016 through January 31, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On February 1, 2015, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-788 (as amended by Amendment Agreements #26-788-1 and #26-788-2), for the provision of anesthesiology services at CCRMC, including but not limited to, consultation, training, medical procedures, and on-call coverage for the General and Obstetric Units, for the period from January 19, 2015 through January 31, 2016.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #26-788-3 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide anesthesiology services at CCRMC through January 31, 2017.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, patients requiring anesthesiology services at CCRMC will not have access to Contractor’s services.
